Perfecting the Craft of Farming
At Craftlay our farming is grounded in care, precision, and a deep respect for the natural lifecycle of our hens. We begin by raising our flocks from day-old chicks, placing a strong emphasis on animal health from the very start to set the foundation for a thriving, healthy future. Their nutrition is carefully curated, with all feed milled on site using locally grown grains from the Canterbury region. Living in a true free-range environment, our hens can express their natural behaviours - dust bathing, foraging, and exploring as they would instinctively.
This considered, hands-on approach allows our hens to thrive, craft and lay eggs of exceptional quality and fuller flavour that we know you will love.
Crafting a natural environment
What began as a blank site on the Canterbury Plains has been thoughtfully developed into an ideal free-range environment for our flocks. Each day, our hens are free to roam, seek shade beneath newly planted tree plantings, and forage naturally across fresh pasture.
Our hands-on, considered approach to farming ensures every flock is attended to daily, recognising the important role they play and the effort they put in each day.
Raised right. Full of flavour.
